More than just a dental hygiene clinic!
Treat yourself to a thorough yet gentle dental cleaning in a relaxed environment with our Registered Dental Hygiene Practitioner .
Our highly experienced Registered Dental Hygienist is known to have a gentle yet thorough touch. She has been providing dental hygiene services for patients of all ages in the lower mainland for over 15 years. Overtime she has seen people avoiding dental hygiene care due to cost, bad experience in the past, being busy at work and the inconsistency of not seeing the same dental hygienist. This has given her motivation to create a space where it will always be one on one care. No waiting room full of patients, no rushed appointments, family-oriented environment where kids and family members are welcome. We are more affordable than a dentist office and we accept and direct bill all major dental insurance. For those who don’t have insurance we offer reduced rates.
Our clinic environment is a relaxed and ambient setting. Sit back and enjoy a show or a movie on Netflix during your treatment. We hope to see you soon.
Initial Comprehensive New Patient Appointment
Medical and Dental History
At your first visit with Sparkle Dental Hygiene Clinic you will be asked to fill out a medical and dental history form. We request you read the forms carefully and complete them to the best of your knowledge. Some medications can affect your teeth and gums such as dry mouth which can lead to a higher risk for cavities
Screening for Oral Cancer
At each appointment we will complete a head and neck exam and intra oral exam for suspicious lesions regardless of age
Complete Examination for Teeth and Gum Health
We will review and update all collected assessment data and record gum, tissue, and bone level health. All findings are reviewed with you and we formulate a individualized personal care plan. A recommendation for your recare interval is determined at this time. This information can also be sent to your dentist, with your consent.
Scaling/Root Planning
This procedure is completed thoroughly and gently, using ultrasonic scaler and hand scalers. It involves the removal of plaque and tartar above and below the gum line. Patients do have the option of receiving hand scaling only. For patients who have deep pockets or have sensitive teeth we offer liquid non-injectable topical anesthetic
Polish
This procedure involves removing stains which are usually caused by coffee, wine, smoking and even iron supplements.
Fluoride
We offer fluoride treatment in the form of varnish or traditional fluoride trays to help prevent or stop tooth decay and strengthen tooth enamel
Desensitizing
Applying a desensitizing varnish can help with sensitivity by helping to reduce pain and sensitivity.
Irrigation
We use a therapeutic solution to flush out deep pockets around the teeth to reduce bacteria and promote healing.
Review of oral hygiene techniques at home
At each appointment we will evaluate and update methods for plaque removal, stain reduction, and desensitization. Oral hygiene aids are provided and explained to you based on your needs.
